As mentioned on ep 197 - there were reports of some users having battery drain issues - and a proposed fix. Turn off the update time zone option in Location services. Apple has now admited to the batter issue saying the following.
"A small number of customers have reported lower-than-expected battery life on iOS 5 devices," Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison said in a statement. "We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life, and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks."
I had the problem. none of the suggestions worked, except I didn't want to do the full restore. I took it to genius and they did a full restore. I had to pull down my backup from the cloud after, to get my folders back. Now I have 70% after 15 hours use. If I use the ipod player or an on-line radio station for a few hours, I lose a few hours, but still passable.

My iPhone 4s is not having this issue but a friend with a iPhone 4 (non-s) is having the same issue and had to turn off the time zone in location services. He works in a metal building and lives in mobile-home (metal siding), I wounder if this could be the issue, non-accurate gps lock assuming the user is moving.

Just my few cents.... I'm experiencing this issue. My battery life is as good as my old old iPhone 3G. Ive tested and yes for testing purpose I get about 1hour 43min of talk time until I get the low battery warning. Leaving the phone over night after a full 0 to 100% charge, the phone is in the red before 10am.... I have since talked to Apple, and will be sending in my phone to get looked at.... One thing that sucks is I will be without a cell phone for a while.... I've tried all the tricks on the forum.. Even a full restore with nothing on the phone it still drains like no tomorrow....
