Ask Tii - What size iPad to get.

    Hi Rob,

I'm trying to decide what size iPad to get and I can't decide.

Do you have any feedback from listeners who got a 16GB then filled up?  My Brother has a 64GB and can't fill it if he tried.

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.

    Thanks,

    John Beamer

    Hi John,

Per the size to get - it depends if you plan to put a lot of movies or TV shows on it.

If you don't - then I would suggest the 32 GB if you have a lot of podcasts - as the 16 GB can fill up fast if you subscribe to a lot.

But if you plan on putting movies on there - then 64 GB is needed.

Now that all said - all of this could change if Apple launches a cloud based service and allows for the storage of Music and Movies in the cloud.

Finally if you plan to use the iPad to create music, movies or podcasts using Gargeband and iMovie - then definitely go with the 64 GB model.

    Regards,

    Rob W

    • Go ahead and get the 64gb, especially if you have a good amount of apps, music, and Tii podcast. (ha ha) But on a serious note for sure go with he big one, you will fill it up pretty fast.I have a decent amount of data, like saving books for school and notes and every thing else, it adds up, and kind of fast. you will not regret the extra money.

    • Howdy John, My first iPad was a 32 GB version and like Rob mentioned, I put a bunch of movies on it as well as iTunes University classes. While I never totally filled up the 32 GB version, I had to shuffle some apps and movies around to give me a little breathing room. With my iPad 2, I decided to go with the 64GB version to give me extra space to store more video content, more high resolution photos from my digital camera, and plenty of reading material in iBooks. Currently I have 20GB free on my iPad 2, but every day I add something new to my iPad and I don't have to worry about deleting apps to make room for new stuff. Having that extra room, for me, enhances my iPad experience! Mark
